Salary: A 2011 special issue by "Modern Health care" magazine reviewed physicians' salaries in several specialties, as reported by the year's major salary surveys. Salaries for family physicians ranged from $162,908 to $221,196 per year, while the reported averages for internists started at $188,500 and rose to $236,544.
Education: Step 4: Complete Training. Graduates of osteopathic medical programs continue their training by enrolling in an internship program. The internship is followed by a residency program in a specialty area such as family or pediatric medicine.
